For its Preview Tasting, the House of Penfolds entrusted H.stories with the production of a prestige tasting in Bordeaux, on 25 June 2026. The project took nearly six months of work, from the venue search to the scenography, through to hosting more than 60 professionals on the day.
We were looking for a setting worthy of the House's great wines, and chose an early 20th-century Bordeaux mansion, with its mouldings and natural light preserved. Once the venue was secured, our teams designed the full scenography: a shared welcome area, two separate tasting rooms and dedicated speaking spaces for the Penfolds team.
The journey was built to host two groups of guests across the day, with the same quality of attention at each session. Each room had its own screen for the House's content and its Riedel glassware, two glasses per guest, chosen to serve every cuvée in the conditions professionals expect.
The day opened with a welcome coffee, before an outdoor reception served with Champagne. Catering, entrusted to Chef Thibaut Servas, was split between the two sessions to match the pace of the tasting without ever breaking focus.
Behind the smoothness of the day lie nearly six months of preparation. Our teams handled the venue search, the scenography, the collection of materials from Penfolds' Paris warehouse, transport to Bordeaux, installation the day before and the coordination of every supplier. On the day, a temperature of 38° forced a last-minute adjustment, which our teams solved on site to protect the tasting and the comfort of the guests. This command of the field, even in the unexpected, is what lets a brand focus on what matters, its guests and its wine.
