Dijon combines ducal heritage with recent facilities. For a convention, the Palais des Congrès et Expositions offers 31,000 sq m, a 610-seat amphitheatre, some twenty modular rooms seating 20 to 600 and five exhibition halls; the adjoining Auditorium de Dijon seats 1,600 for a plenary. For a signature format, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin, which opened in 2022, hosts 10 to 700 people and offers a vaulted cellar for private hire. For an exceptional dinner, the Château du Clos de Vougeot, at the heart of the Climats of the Burgundy vineyards, takes everything from an intimate dinner to a gala dinner, while the Cellier de Clairvaux, a 13th-century Cistercian building in the very centre of town, offers a rare setting.

This is one of the city's most underrated assets: Dijon-Ville is 1 hr 32 min from Paris Gare de Lyon, with close to twenty trains a day, and the station sits right in the centre, connected to the tramway. No other French wine destination is this close to Paris. One point worth knowing, however: Dijon-Bourgogne airport no longer operates scheduled commercial flights, it is reserved for business aviation. International guests therefore arrive via Paris and then TGV, or via Lyon-Saint Exupéry. We factor these journeys into the schedule from the outset.

Two factors are specific to Dijon: the availability of the wine estates, which are booked early and priced according to the standing of the cru, and the travel arrangements for international guests, which involve a transfer from Paris or Lyon. Every proposal is costed line by line once the brief is set.
