Heritage and industrial spaces: the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, a former hydraulic power station built on the Rhône and converted into a venue, seats up to 500 guests for dinner and holds 1,000 for a cocktail reception; the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the largest stage in Switzerland, has 1,500 seats. Estates and private properties: the Domaine du Grand Malagny, an eighteenth-century property set in five hectares with views over the lake and the Alps, welcomes up to 900 guests, 450 for a banquet. Institutional and contemporary venues: the CERN Science Gateway, designed by Renzo Piano, on the site where the web was born, holds around 800 people; Palexpo handles the very largest formats, up to 11,000 delegates. For confidential formats, the palace hotels on the quai du Mont-Blanc such as the Beau-Rivage offer private salons.
The budget gap is not where you would expect it. Palexpo is a ten-minute walk from the airport. We systematically map arrivals and transfers into the production schedule.

First, hotel saturation during the major trade fairs: Watches and Wonders, the global watchmaking gathering held at Palexpo in April, and the EPHJ, the high-precision trade show in June, take over the city. Second, a point many agencies discover too late: Switzerland lies outside the European customs union. Any event equipment brought in temporarily, sets, technical kit, branded products, must travel under an ATA carnet to avoid duties and taxes, subject to re-export. We factor this customs dimension in from the very first scoping session.
